Hanging out at the Lighthouse

One of my weekly pitstops is the Lighthouse Bar in Kanda. It’s a small bar with maybe the best selection of music of any joint in town. Master Saitou-san doesn’t stack records or CDs behind the counter like most other music bars but instead hooks up his laptop and selects tunes from over 10,000 albums he has uploaded.

Last night over a few beers we listened to Curtis Mayfield, Burning Spear, Jimmy Smith, Mahlatini & the Mahotella Queens, King Sunny Ade and more, all the while talking about music. Perfect way to spend an hour on the way home after work.

Proper, full profile of the Lighthouse coming soon.
