Lee Morgan – ‘Live At The Lighthouse’

Hard to believe I had never heard this album until recently, it’s an amazing 3-CD live set by Lee Morgan recorded in 1970. Bennie Maupin, Harold Mabern, Jymie Merritt and Mickey Roker are all on fire, playing all originals. This almost immediately became one of my all-time favorite jazz sets, read more about it here.

Also I can’t recommend enough the recent documentary I Called Him Morgan. This is such a good film it’s worth watching even if you don’t know anything about Lee Morgan.
