“Yume-Goto” – Live at Kamome, Yokohama

Yume-Goto

Another brilliant performance by Yume-Goto last night at Kamome in Kannai, Yokohama. Bassist Jeff Curry, drummer Masashi Tomikawa, trumpeter Neil Stalnaker and shakuhachi player Hiromfumi Miyazaki are creating something very new with this band.

Miyazaki-san drove up from Shikoku just for this performance, bringing the hanging “sanukite” stones with him. He only comes up 3 or 4 times a year although the other guys do manage to make it down to Shikoku every now and then for some writing and rehearsing.

Being able to sit front and center for this gig by four master musicians was a treat, and thankfully last night was recorded by the Music Air network for broadcast next year. If I can wrangle a DVD copy before then will be sure to upload some clips.
