Milestone is easy to find if you know where Ben`s Cafe is; just look left before the Library for the Blind, and you`ll see the sign on the right side. If it`s your first time in Baba, come out of the JR station and turn right at the `Big Box`. Head up the street and turn left on the street past Peacock supermarket. Walk down and take the right at the end of the street and walk up about 100 meters. Then on the left side you`ll see a big grey building with odd chains on it; that`s the library for the blind. Milestone is easy to spot by looking left.

Come out JR Shinjuku station at the East-South exit. Go down the steps and walk on the left side along the overpass on your right. About three buildings down you'll see the hanging blue sign for the Samurai, right before a noddle shop. Go up the three steps and take the rickety elevator to the 5th floor. Miyazaki-san is usually there by 6 on weekdays and 3 on Saturdays, but call first just to make sure.

I found this tiny gem of a jazz cafe amidst the chaos that is Kabukicho in Shinjuku. The is a small place run by Kawashima-san, an exceptionally friendly lady with a taste for free jazz.

Directions: 
Take the main entrance into Kabukicho by the Don Quiote discount shop on Yasukuni-Dori. Walk straight down all the way to the Koma Theater. Turn right and look up along the buildings on the right side. You'll see a small sign that says "Jazz" among all the porno shops and snack bars. It's on the 2nd floor above a "uniform" store.

Although very close to Iidabashi station, the Corner Pocket is easy to miss. Come out of exit B3 from the Iidabashi subway station. Turn right, and then immediately turn right again down the first alleyway. Walk for a minute until you see a large overhanging sign on the right Go under the sign to the end, and on the right you'll see the Corner Pocket.
